Our Story

How a dad's struggle turned into a hair tie revolution

From Frustrated Dad to Hair Tie Pioneer

Back in 2018, Jeff Barra was just a dad trying to do his daughter's hair. Sounds simple, right? It wasn't. Every morning was a battle with traditional hair ties that would snap, break, or get hopelessly tangled in her beautiful hair.

After countless mornings of tears (both his and hers), Jeff had enough. He searched everywhere online for a better solution, but came up empty-handed. That's when inspiration struck - if he couldn't find the perfect hair tie, he'd create it himself.

"I just wanted something that would hold my daughter's ponytail without the daily struggle. That simple idea grew into PonyPop™ — a hair tie designed for families like ours." - Jeff Barra, Founder

The Barra family started selling PonyPop™ hair ties—originally called Elsy Tails—at local farmers markets. Word spread quickly - these weren't just hair ties, they were game-changers.
